Coffee for an active life is a new section of our recommendations, where drinks are recommended for people who like sports and promote an active lifestyle. Here, they will not only recommend their favorite drinks, talk about their relationship with coffee, but also share tips on how to overcome laziness and love movement.
Martynas is the first to recommend coffee to you. 🏊♂️
Martyns calls himself a swimming enthusiast: twice a week he attends swimming pool training with the famous trainer Kęstučius Autukas and three times a week he visits the gym. For him, sport means community and good feeling. Martyn's advice to those who want to start playing sports is not to set too ambitious goals, so as not to be quickly disappointed if the desired results are not achieved. It's best to just create a routine, find something interesting, fun and enjoy it. When it comes to coffee, Martyn can be called a true coffee connoisseur, as he always chooses quality coffee at Vero Cafe. Before sports, he recharges his energy after drinking espresso , and after training, Martyn rewards himself with a cup of Flat White made from quality coffee beans. By the way, Martynas usually enjoys filter coffee at home, prepared with Harry's V60, and if he is in a hurry, he switches to a Moka coffee maker. And he always grinds the beans himself, just before preparing the coffee!
Next, Aistė Gustė recommends her favorite drink.🧘♀️
Founder of the ADITI Studio of Callanetics and Mindfulness. Kalanetics is an elegant, feminine, "dance" exercise. Without sweat and suffering, with pleasure and a quick effect. It is special not only in its exercises, but in conveying emotions and a respectful attitude towards the female body.
Aiste is a person who never lacks ideas or inspiration for what to do in life. There are times when we run out of time because there is a lot to cover. Love for movement was born in school, in dance rehearsals. Today, Aistė's stage is a cozy, own studio for women. He has been leading and teaching callanetics for 14 years. There are 2 adult sons and a mother of a third. He recently returned to realize himself in the world of photography. It works where there is pleasure, fellowship and the opportunity to make others happy. And in coffee, Aistė likes to experiment, try new combinations of flavors and different types. However, latte with almond milk is her classic choice.
The third hero is the cyclist Donatas 🚴♂️
Donatas says that sport is like a meditation for him, which helps to overcome stress, ignite internal motivation, escape from worries or daily routine, take time to immerse yourself in yourself or have fun in company. The best medicine to maintain a good mood and motivation.
For those who want to start playing sports, Donatas advises: " Choose a suitable track that would be easy to cover. Start riding distances that are not very long, such as 10-15 km. Carry a water bottle with you to quench your thirst.” The cyclist speaks from experience about the importance of preparation: " Once during the competition, I didn't get enough sleep and didn't stock up on drinks. In the second part of the race, I noticed that I was already being overtaken by people wearing flip flops. I don't do that anymore 🙂".
As for coffee rituals, Donatas usually drinks coffee before training. His choice is Americano with quality coffee. This gives him a stimulus and energy for active driving.
Dom about coffee could enter a lot. He has been a member of the Vero team for over 10 years. In the early morning, he enjoys milky coffees - Moka or Capusan, and in the second half of the day - he chooses a double Espresso or Americano.
His recommendation for you is Mocha with coconut syrup. "I would describe this coffee as a cup of pleasure that helps you relax and gives you strength during a busy day."
Another passion - cycling - is no less a part of life. 🚴♂️ Dom says that the bicycle appeared in his life as a means of relaxation: "I used to ride it when I felt tired or just to "refresh my head" and I didn't even realize when it turned into a sport. I would say cycling tamed me on its own. This sport is like an antidepressant for me. Without him, I'd be the biggest grumpy curmudgeon. It's a source of great mood and well-being."
If you are also looking into sports, Domas advises you not to delay and find a community of people who do sports and start with discussions. They will share tips, get you on your way, and exercise will be much more enjoyable and productive with people who already have experience.
Dom shares his most memorable cycling memory: "The most memorable moment on the bike is the first injury. While driving through Panemune heat, a child ran out onto the road, I had to react in just a moment. I turned the wheel of the bicycle sharply to avoid colliding with the child. I crashed into a tree, had to go to the emergency room, where I found out I had a broken collarbone, and had to say goodbye to my bike for 3 months. The lesson of this whole situation is to protect ourselves and each other. Both cyclists for pedestrians and pedestrians for cyclists."
